Weekly Recap: Fashion, Food and Festivity

We’ve just had another busy week and there are lots of pictures to share.

Petite and Sweet started the week off catering a product launch for SkinCeuticals held at Album Studio Rentals.

We then participated in the 9th annual What’s On The Table, featuring Toronto’s most innovative restaurants and the best Niagara wines, with proceeds going to The Stop Community Food Centre’s critical anti-hunger programs. Martha Stewart enjoyed our menu so much at The Delicious Food Show we decided to treat all the foodies at What’s On The Table to the same delicious treats, including chocolate chai with madagascar vanilla roasted marshmallows, a variety of macaroons including our one-of-a-kind tea macaroons with Plucked Teas Spadina and Kensington tea blends, open faced cookie bombs - a Petite & Sweet custom dessert, and cake sandwiches. We even roasted the marshmallows on sight for our guests. Yumm!

Guests got to meet Lynn Crawford, Jamie Oliver, and Carl Heinrich and sample delicious food from restaurants like Parts and Labour and Porzia

Over the weekend, Holt Renfrew hosted an amazing afternoon of music, shopping, sampling and art. Fans of Rebecca Minkoff got the chance to get their purses custom monogramed and nibble on our vanilla mini cupcakes, caramelized white chocolate macaroons and white chocolate truffles. We were so pleased to be part of such a great event!

The cutest event of the week was Baby Lucas’ Burberry inspired Christening sweet table. He celebrated in style with trendy burberry popcorn boxes, chocolate bars and yummy cake pops.

Stay sweet!

Our Crazy Week in Review

Petite and Sweet just went through quite an eventful week and we are very excited to share the details!

Petite and Sweet was asked to design a cake for our favourite Canadian artist, Drake, for his 27th birthday held at Blowfish Restaurant this past Wednesday in Toronto. Well that’s no pressure!! After a lot of thinking, we decided to keep the cake classy and simple. For a man who has everything and sees everything, sometimes less is more.

Take a look at the before and after shot of Drake’s birthday cake. Happy birthday Drake! We wonder what you wished for. ;)

On the same day we catered for BVtea, presenting fashions and bling from the merchant of Bayview Village. The proceeds of this event went to The Gerry & Nancy Pencer Brain Tumor Centre at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. We’d like to give a special thank you to Stacey and Cele from Lounge Furniture Rentals for making us a part of such a beautiful event!

If that wasn’t exciting enough, we then put together a breakfast for the queen of lifestyle herself, Martha Stewart at The Delicious Food Show!  She was so impressed with all our delicious treats that she asked our very own, Elle Daftarian, to help cut the amazing cake we designed especially for her. Take a look at how we brought the breakfast and our booth at the Delicious Food Show to life from start to finish below!

Our girls putting together the booth.

We shared our booth with Pluck Teas, our favourite tea brand! The favourite treat of the weekend was the lychee jasmine macaron, designed with Pluck Teas Spadina blend.

And finally, here’s Alex with the talented Chuck Hughes! We’re sure this was must have made her day!

Halloween Inspiration by Petite & Sweet

It’s that time of year again. We’re bringing out our Halloween decorations to show you how to create a scary sweet table the Petite & Sweet way. We added some fashionable flare to our table by incorporating single colored and black splattered pumpkins mixed with multi-level candles for an eerie candle-lit effect.

A Halloween party wouldn’t be complete without some treats, so we’ve made Pumpkin Cake Pops, Candy Corn jars, Spider Bites too frightening to eat, Eyeball Doughnuts, Witch Finger Sugar Cookies and Double Chocolate Fudge cupcakes for a delicious yet unnerving sweet table.

Like what you see? Call us to book a spooky Halloween event, décor or sweet table!

The Petite & Sweet team wishes everyone a happy and safe Halloween!

Follow these simple steps to add sweet & colourful flair to your treat supply!

 1. Pop some popcorn, add butter & salt. Lay the popcorn out across a baking pan covered in parchment paper.

2. Zap some Candy Melts in a microwave-safe bowl for twenty seconds at a time, stirring in between and being sure not to let it burn. When a smooth consistency is reached, it’s time to drizzle! Take a plastic baggie, fill with melted candy, snip off the corner so you can use it as a piping bag. Drizzle liberally across popcorn pan. Mix as many colours as you like! (melt colours separately)

3. Let dry (about ten minutes) and then pour into bowls or personal popcorn boxes/bags and enjoy!

Nothing refreshes on a hot summer day like drinks & treats made with tangy-cool citrus fruits, and nothing is more summertime-vivacious than the bright & cheerful colours they wear. With the last long weekend of summer just days ahead, the Petite & Sweet team give a cool toast to the balmier days of the year with a beautiful Late Summer Citrus-inspiration.

With our palette of pink grapefruit, lemonade yellow, and cool lime green, we created this sweet table, cocktail recipe & a chic take-away treat for your guests that would be a hit at any hot-weather celebration!

Darling and Ninth

9 months is a long time to wait for that precious bundle of joy to arrive. It’s not so long when you have baby showers, baby proofing, picking out strollers, designing a baby room and preparing for your little angel. 9 months seems to fly by in that sense, which is why we think Darling and Ninth is amazing! Founder Claire Kilgour Hervey felt the same overwhelming feelings that many expecting mothers feel during the pregnancy journey, which is why she turned it into her mission to help guide mummies to be with all their planning needs. To launch this new endeavor, Darling & Ninth hosted a shower of their own, that featured all their services under one roof. In correlation with Power of Prive, Birks, Modern Baby and of course, your very own Petite and Sweet touches. Darling & Ninth simply out did themselves in planning the perfect party featuring the best Toronto has to offer!
